FCI expands its flexible line connector products

21ic News FCI has expanded its line of flexible line connectors by introducing the SFGL series of FPC connectors with ZIF as the terminal. A roll-back movable cover joint with a pitch of 0.4 mm and a height of 0.9 mm is suitable for use in tablets.

In addition, the VLP series, which was previously an enhanced version of the FPC ZIF connector SFVL series, is now also suitable for 0.5 mm pitch and 0.7 mm height, providing a secure mating over a limited board pitch. The connector meets the universal standard for ZIF connectors for backlights and touch screens and is commonly used in smartphones and mobile phones due to its higher cable retention and rollover cover.
The SFGL and VLP series complete the FCI flexible line connector product line, including ZIF (zero insertion force) and non-zero insertion force, upper and lower contact options, vertical and right angle directions, surface mount and through-hole soldering packaging processes have been extended to 0.20 mm pitch.

Other features of the FFC/FPC product line, such as optional cable locks and mounting equipment, ensure that it can be used in almost any application, no matter how demanding the application is. FCI introduced the first flexible line connector with a rear flip cover that allows the user to insert a flexible cable and lock the movable cover with one hand. FCI enhances this function by changing the connector housing, ensuring the reliability of flexible cable insertion by confirming the appearance.
